Metropolitan Speleological Society (MSS) Publications

The Metropolitan Speleological Society (MSS) was inaugerated in September 1965, intially as the Cambrian Speleological Society - a name which lasted all of 6 weeks before a new name was proposed to avoid confusion with the Canberra Speleological Society. Graham Plamer was the first President and Roy Cope was the first Secretary. MSS was admitted to the ASF in 1968. MSS has had a variety of publications over the years, the current club journal being "MSS Newsletter Quarterly." It is a large and very active club, covering caving, canyoning, bushwalking and other adventure activities, but it also has a record of exploration, scientific research and publication. MSS is responsible for the numbering and documentation of the Abercrombie area.
