Bermagui Speleological AssociationThe Bermagui Speleological Association was founded in January 1972, by John Robinson, Chris Franks, Greg Cooper and Dennis Moore. The Association was accepted as an Associate member of the Australian Speleological Federation in late 1973 or very early1974. The BSA mapped a number of sea caves on the South Coast of NSW and was responsible for the allocation of cave numbers to sea caves and other non-limestone caves in this area. They were active around Bendethera, Yarrangobilly and Bungonia, but also visited areas further afield, such as Camooweal and Chillagoe in QLD. Because of the low population of the area, spread out along the coast, the BSA always struggled for members and because of this they delayed applying for full membership of the ASF. The most recent issue held in the ASF Library
for the BSA of their publication "The Bermagui Caver" is Volume 4
Number 1, April 1977.
