Endeavour Spelelological Association (ESA) and Endeavour Caving and Recreational Club (ECRC)

The Endeavour Speleological Association formed in June 1973 and was based around the Sutherland Shire area of Sydney. The first president was Gary Mathew. The association produced a journal, with the first 3 issues (beginning in November 1973) simply titled "ESA News", followed by "EVIL SEVAC" (Caves Live) - the "EVIL" part was dropped by 1976. In 1978 the organisation changed its name to the "Endeavour Caving and Recreational Club", and the club publication became "Now and Then With Endeavour."

Numbering was somewhat haphazard, sometimes being 'volumes' with issues but mostly issue numbers. The ASF Library holds 5 original issues and an incomplete set of old photocopies. The most recent issue held dates from 1980. Copyright is retained by the original authors. Access to these journals requires ASF membership and no material should be reproduced without contacting the ASF first. Click on one of the links below and it will take you to the ASF membership database, where you can log in from there to view the files.
