New South Wales Institute of Technology Speleological Society
(NSWITSS) and University of Technology Speleological Society (UTSSS)
Usually pronounced as "Nitwits", the NSWITSS was an
active club that eventually morphed into UTSSS when the Institution ceased to be
a technical college and became a full fledged university (the University of
Technology Sydney) around 1989. The first meeting of NSWITSS was held on the
25th July 1972. The society journal was "Labyrinth", and the first issue came
out at the beginning of 1973. UTSSS
continued Labyrinth and also
produced a few issues of a Newsletter. UTSSS wound up in 2017.
