The Caving Club of Victoria was an active speleological
society with headquarters initially located in the Prahran area. It formed in 1997 originally as
a "working party". The first meeting, where the club was formed, was held in
August 1997. It became a member of the ASF that year, and was officially
incorporated in April 1998. Activities were undertaken all over Victoria and
across most of Australia. Sadly, the club wound up at the end of 2008.
The
club journal was called "The Doline". The Library holds copies (and an almost
complere set of masters) of the Doline up until the end
of 2003, and Annual/Members reports until around 2001. There was no
June 1999 issue. Issue number have been assigned to keep the files in
chronological order but there may be missing issues. It is not clear
if there was a regular publication beyond 2002. Other club documents
(membership lists, meeting minutes etc) are kept in the Library's archives.
